School Programs
About our Epilepsy Awareness Program…
Educators, parents, health professionals and students, working together, make a world of difference in the lives of children with epilepsy. By helping students to see epilepsy for what it is, not what fear makes it, we can stimulate growth in the classroom and beyond. The VEPC offers individualized, upbeat presentations about epilepsy and seizure management to students and staff. These age-appropriate sessions are available to all schools in Districts 61, 62 and 63.

Programs for staff teach about correct seizure response and strategies to help students thrive. Our agency booklet ‘Epilepsy: Information for Educators’ provides staff with the practical information they need.

Our classroom presentations for students are designed to help dispel the myths and fears surrounding epilepsy, and encourage understanding and healthy interactions with classmates who have this condition.

Our teaching sessions are free, and we encourage teachers, school staff, parents, students, as well as school nurses and other health care professionals, to contact us to arrange for presentations
