Support. Care. Knowledge.

Support

We provide personal and family consultations, workshops and information sessions, group support sessions, and specialized exercise classes.

Care

Our professional staff offer a wide variety of services to clients at all stages of the lifecycle, from children to seniors, and their loved ones.

Knowledge

We welcome calls for information and assistance - connecting with schools, workplaces and the community.

Volunteer

Do you want to help your individuals in your community? Are you interested in gaining skills which can help with future employment? Then we want you!

We are starting several volunteer-based programs for which we need more volunteers.  If any of the following programs interests you, please contact Deirdre at epilepsy@vepc.bc.ca. All volunteer positions at Headway Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson’s Centre require an application process including a current vulnerable sector criminal record check prior to starting the position.

Chronic Conditions Self-Management Program (CCSM) Facilitators

Runs January 22, 23, 29, 30 at Headway Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson’s Centre

The Chronic Condition Self-Management Program is put on by the Institute on Aging & Lifelong Health at the University of Victoria.  The program and the leadership training are free to participate in and an honorarium is provided for leading the session.  If you are interested in attending a training seminar and facilitating groups, this is program for you!

Mentorship Program

This program aims to connect children and teens with seizures to adults who are living successfully with seizures. Share life hacks, exchange stories, and make new friends!

Family Support Program

This program aims to support parents with seizures who may be required by the Ministry of Children and Families to have supervision while playing with his or her children.  The cost of supervision falls to the parent with seizures, which can be a heavy burden. This program can also be accessed by parents who need connection and support.  A volunteer orientation is required for this program.

Community Support Program

This program aims to support those who are isolated in our community.  Volunteers may meet clients for coffee, go for a walk together, go grocery shopping together, or simply have a good chat. Preference will be given to those living successfully with epilepsy.

Purple Day Crafts Program

Purple Day is quickly approaching and we want to make a big purple splash!  We are currently making friendship and rainbow loom bracelets for children to sell at purple day events at their schools.  Come and be crafty!
